FROM: RM of Ohio.I think people should know how wonderful this Pedaler is and how
much it has helped me.
I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis about 3 years
ago, and after lying around in pain for 6 months popping pain pills and water pills
regularly for the swelling in my knees and ankles, and gaining an enormous amount of
weight, I went to the doctor. Her words to me were "use it or loose
it!" She said a bike was the best "no/low impact" exercise I
could do. When I told her I did not own a bike, she said to go join a gym. I
did. I pedaled 1/2 hour daily, combined with upper body weight training. It
was expensive, and for what I paid for a membership... I could have bought a
bike! And, since moving here to Ohio to care for my mother, I can no longer go to a
gym. So, I had to look at bringing the gym to
my home. Every passing day I don't exercise, the joints become stiffer and the
extremities begin swelling again. But, all that equipment is so costly.
I had been looking at your
website for about a year, considering it... looking over the schematics and wondering if
it was any good, always delaying an order. But, since I moved to Ohio, I needed to
exercise my knees, as they are reverting back to pain and stiffness, loss of mobility and
swelling knees and ankles. And, now I have a better reason to stay mobile... I have
to care for my mother.
Two weeks ago, I did it... I ordered the BX
Pedaler. I have had it in my possession for about 5 days now, and I pedal
every day for 1/2 hour... First slowly, but now faster. This little machine just
keeps pace! Some of the things I like about it are:
1. It
is heavy enough to not flop around on the floor (unlike the non-motorized versions I spent
$40 on and couldn't use because of that very thing).
2. It
doesn't take up much space.
3. It
keeps the time, distance and pace for me to view, so I can measure my progress.
4. It
is portable. Sometimes I take it out on the front porch so I can enjoy the
flowers in my neighbors yard, talk to passers-by, and enjoy the change in scenery (as I
moved from Florida to Ohio - it is so nice enjoying all the beauty while I exercise -
instead of TV).
I am considering
buying one for the office as well. I sit all day at a computer, and my legs get
stiff. I figure if I can pedal for 15-20 minutes of my 1-hour lunch, I can get
invigorated for the rest of the day, which is good for me... and good for my job.
The biggest benefit is my health.
Do I have any regrets?
You bet! Not buying the Pedaler sooner! But that mistake, thankfully,
is corrected. It is a small price to pay for my health! By the way... I am now
back off all pain medication and water pills for swelling.
One of my concerns in not
buying it was "what if it breaks in shipping. Well, it was so well packed,
encased in dense foam. Upon pulling it out and the minor assembly (which
I, a 48 year old woman, did myself!), it started up and ran perfectly. If you are
considering this Pedaler, look at it as an investment in your LIFE! The doctor said
a recumbent bike was the best selection for my knees, but they cost so-o-o-o-o-o much and
take up so-o-o-o-o-o much space in my house! This has been the PERFECT solution.
Sincerely,
